BrightSquid Secure Mail
You've received a message from us via BrightSquid Secure Mail. What is this and what to do?
Because we are not allowed to send patient information via fax or email for privacy reasons, if we have to email you information or documents about a specific patient, we will usually send it by secure (encrypted) email.
You will receive an email explaining that you have a message waiting to download. Click on the green button and the message will download. It's that simple, and there is no cost to offices receiving the messages. We pay a small annual fee to use the service. There are other services available, including one from CDANet, but there are concerns that they are not compliant with current legislation in Alberta so we are using the BrightSquid service and it works well.
